Branding, digital product, and editorial design for founders who refuse to blend in.
We rebuilt Northgate's identity from sketch to shipping in eleven weeks — and the category hasn't looked the same since.
We build brands the way editors build covers — stop you mid-scroll, or don't bother printing.
Safe work is invisible work. We start every engagement by asking which received ideas we're allowed to break — and then we break them on the record. That's how the brands we ship end up on the covers we studied growing up.
Three recent engagements across spirits, apparel, and independent publishing — each shipped end-to-end with a team of five or fewer.
We started Voltage in 2019 because too many studios were shipping polite work for impolite markets. Restraint has its place — a pharmaceutical inlay, a tax form. Not a brand launch. Not a founder's first shot at a category.
Six years in, we still run small — four partners, a rotating cast of collaborators, and a single rule: the people who pitch the work are the people shipping the work. No junior ghosts. No handoffs that lose the point between the deck and the dev build.
Every engagement starts the same way. Tell us what the safe version of the work looks like, and we’ll show you what you’re actually paying for instead.
Four practices, one team. Engaged together, shipped end-to-end.

Independent creative studio. Six partners, a dozen collaborators, one standing rule: ship work the safe studios couldn't.
