I signed up for one weekend in 2021. I've been back every spring since. The work is hard, the meals are slow, the forest is taller every year.

Twenty-eight years,still planting.

1998 · First planting

Six founders and three hectares of cork-oak on the Algarve coastline. A handshake co-op, no budget.

2005 · First cooperative

Twelve local households join as owners. First zine printed and distributed at Lisbon weekend markets.

2014 · Catalonia chapter

Second coastline opens. Volunteer walks become annual — autumn in Catalonia, spring in Algarve.

2021 · 1,000 hectares

Cross the thousand-hectare mark. Publish the first audited impact ledger in partnership with an EU accountant.

2026 · Mission 042

2,400 hectares stewarded across three coastlines. Next target: ten cooperatives, ten villages, by 2030.
