Eight of the questions we field most often from prospective clients. For anything specific to your matter, the partner you speak with will walk you through it on the introductory call — no clock starts until we agree to act.
Every matter is handled by a named partner under written engagement. Files sit on an isolated, jurisdiction-pinned server with attorney-client privilege documented end to end; staff outside the engagement do not see them, and we never use client data to train any system, internal or external.
Most engagements are flat-fee for defined scopes (formation, M&A, advisory letters) or capped hourly with a written ceiling. Litigation runs on hourly retainers with monthly statements; contingency arrangements are available case-by-case for plaintiff-side commercial work.
Yes — our partners are admitted in New York, Delaware, the United Kingdom, and Singapore, and we hold reciprocal arrangements with chambers in Dublin, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong. Cross-border matters are coordinated by a single partner so you have one point of contact.
A 30-minute call with the partner most relevant to your situation — no charge, no obligation. We listen first, ask whether the matter is one we can take on, and if so propose a written scope and fee. Anything you share is privileged from the moment we agree to evaluate it.
Same-day capacity is reserved for existing clients. New-matter intake takes one to three business days for conflict-checks and engagement letter; truly emergent work can be expedited if you contact the on-duty partner directly via the after-hours line on the contact page.
Yes. Engagement letters name the lead partner and the supporting associate; that team carries the matter to conclusion. We brief alternates so coverage is continuous, but day-to-day decisions sit with the named partner — you will not be passed around.
Frequently — particularly for specialised matters in regulated industries or jurisdictions where you do not have local counsel. Standard reciprocal courtesies apply, and we are happy to act behind the scenes on a co-counsel basis if a continued client relationship matters to your firm.
Every new matter passes through a formal conflicts check before we engage — current clients, former clients, and any party adverse to either are screened automatically. If a conflict is identified we either decline, propose ethical screening, or seek written waivers; we will tell you which applies before any privileged discussion.
