Studio Notes

Selected questions,answered briefly.

Seven of the questions we field most often before a portrait sitting or a commercial commission — bookings, licensing, retouching, and what travels with us on location. Anything more specific lives in a private brief; ask, and one will be drawn up for you.

How do I book a sitting or commission?

A short brief by email — what you have in mind, when, and where — followed by a thirty-minute call to confirm we're a good match before the calendar locks. Portrait sittings are typically scheduled three to six weeks out, commercial commissions four to eight; rush windows occasionally open and are sent to the studio's mailing list first.

Portrait sittings start at $1,800 for a one-look studio session; commercial commissions are quoted per project against usage, talent, and locations. Studio time, lighting, one assistant, and a curated edit of the strongest frames are always included; secondary licensing and additional retouching are quoted separately so the line items remain transparent.

A web-resolution proof gallery within seven business days; selected high-resolution masters within ten of the approved cut. Commercial productions follow the schedule agreed in the brief, with rough selects within 48 hours of the wrap. Same-day frames are available for editorial press deadlines on request.

Personal sittings include unlimited private use — print, share, hand to family, hang in your own home. Commercial use, broadcast, and any third-party publication are licensed separately, scoped to a defined campaign and term. Copyright remains with the studio in every case; we'll never re-license your portraits without written consent.

Yes — globally for commercial productions, regionally for editorial and portrait. Travel, lodging, freight, and one assistant are billed at cost on production budgets; for short flights inside Europe or North America, we frequently absorb the day-rate uplift on multi-day shoots. Insurance, permits, and local fixers are coordinated by the studio so the schedule isn't your problem.

Standard retouching covers exposure, contrast, colour, skin care, stray hair, and subtle wardrobe corrections — included on every selected frame. Composite retouching, beauty work beyond a standard pass, and reconstructive work (skies, backgrounds, removed objects) are billed by the hour at the studio rate, quoted before any work starts.

Yes — the studio is available for half-day and full-day rental when not booked for our own productions, with grip, lighting, and cinema package add-ons. The team also takes on motion commissions independently, from short-form portraits to full commercial direction; the same studio language carries through, just at twenty-four frames a second.
