Yes, four times. The rest is sorted by who is asking.
None. Every crew starts with a ten-minute briefing from a trained crew lead, and you work in pairs for the first hour. Most people arrive knowing nobody and leave with a favourite stretch of beach.
Closed shoes, a water bottle and clothes that can get dirty. We bring gloves in every size, grabbers, bags, sunscreen and coffee.
No. You sign up for one Saturday at a time, any time until the Thursday before. Come once a year or every week; the crew is glad either way.
In light rain we go. In heavy rain, or wind over 30 mph, the crew lead calls it by 6:30 am and everyone signed up gets a text.
Yes. Groups of 8 to 40 get a site and a crew lead of their own. Tell us two weeks ahead so we can size the tools and the permit.
Every month. We ask for one adult for every five under-16s, and under-12s work in gardens and school yards rather than on the shoreline.
Volunteering is always free. Companies are invited to sponsor the crew they join, and $420 covers a full Saturday, but it is never a condition.
Yes. The crew lead signs hours on the day, and a signed letter for a school, a court or an employer follows by email within a week.
86 cents of every dollar goes to Saturdays: tools, permits, haul-away and crew-lead training. The rest keeps the lights on and the books audited.
Yes. Groundswell is a registered 501(c)(3), and every gift is deductible as far as the law allows. Your receipt arrives by email the same day.
Any time, in two clicks, from the link in every receipt. No phone call and no form.
Never. We do not rent, sell or swap donor lists, and you hear from us four times a year unless you ask for more.
