asked at every briefing

Before youlace up.

The seven things people ask before they book, answered the way a guide would answer them at the trailhead.

still unsure? call Ana, she has walked all of them.

If you can walk six hours with a daypack two days in a row, you can do any Moderate route. Challenging routes add steeper climbs and one or two longer days, and a twelve-week training plan comes with every booking.

Every hut bed and meal on the trail, both guides, luggage transfers wherever a road reaches the hut, and all permits. Flights, insurance and drinks at the huts are yours.

About half of every group comes alone. Huts sleep in shared dorms, so there is no single supplement, and in towns we pair solo travellers only when a twin is the last room left.

A one-page list arrives when you book: boots you have already broken in, a 30-litre pack and layers. Poles, gaiters and sleeping liners can be rented from us for the week.

Yes, and it has to cover hiking up to 3,000 metres and helicopter evacuation. We ask for the policy number before departure, because the huts do.

A 20% deposit holds your place and is fully refundable for 30 days. After that it moves to any other departure within two years.

The guide decides on the day, and the call is always the cautious one. Every route has a lower variant, and a day lost to a storm is spent at the hut, not on the ridge.
