The back of the packet

Six shortanswers.

The long version is printed on each packet. The short version is stamped on it, for anyone reading from across the potting shed.

No. 01 · Posting

When do you post?

Within 48 hours, Monday to Thursday. Nothing leaves on a Friday: seed should not spend a weekend in a sorting office.

48 H

No. 02 · Growing

Is it all organic?

Certified since 2004, on every one of the nine acres. No treated seed, no coatings, no exceptions.

Yes

No. 03 · Seed saving

Which can I save seed from?

Every one. All 412 are open-pollinated, so what you save comes true next year. That is the whole idea.

All

No. 04 · Storing

How long does a packet keep?

About four years somewhere cool, dry and dark. Parsnip and onion are the exceptions: sow those within one.

4 yrs

No. 05 · Our promise

What if nothing comes up?

Send the lot number from the flap and we post a fresh packet. No photographs, no argument.

Free

No. 06 · Hybrids

Do you sell F1 hybrids?

No. A hybrid has to be bought again every spring. We would rather you never needed us twice for the same bean.

No

Not one of the six? The seed room answers by hand, usually the same day.
